April Fools Day

This is Spring Break time and it makes me go back to my younger years. We never went to Florida, nor went on any kind of vacation growing up. I did however, love to stay at my grandparents house. It always seemed to fall around April 1st: April fools day. Waking up in my grandparents home, I knew my grampa would have something silly up his sleeve. He was such a loving and kind man who so loved to laugh. His laugh and smile linger in my mind today, oh how I miss him so.

It got me thinking...Fools day. Hmmm....as I have been plunging into daily scripture readings, there are so many references to fools, foolishness, and fool in the Bible. God is not afraid to tell us what fools do, think or act like and how it impacts your life and HIM!

Proverbs 28:26
He who trust in himself is a fool,
but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe.

1 Corinthians 4:10
We are fools for Christ,
but you are so wise in Christ!

Proverbs 14:8
The wisdom of the prudent is to give
thought to their ways,
but the folly of fools is deception.

1 Corinthians 3:18-19
Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight.

This is just a few of the many scripture I have looked up from the reference in the back of my Bible. Notice that foolishness is lack of wisdom and the lack of wisdom is the lack of God in your life. Psalms and Proverbs is loaded to references to foolishness and wisdom. Now look at the benefits of wisdom!

Colossians 2:2-3
My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

Psalm 111:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

I could give you so much more but I surely encourage you to look in your bible for the treasure hunt of God's wisdom.

May this day bring no folly or foolishness but celebration of the life you have in Christ through his wisdom~

blessings, Angie

  1. What a great post...I love how you were prompted to look up foolishness. I would never have thought of that.

    Wishing you a beautiful Easter.
